Gender art and more….

I thought I’d share this great video about gender transformation and art.  It is well worth the watch and features visual artist, Heather Cassils (go to her site to see more about her work, Cuts: A Traditional Sculpture 2011) and Zackary Drucker, one of the photographers, with Amos Mac, for  the new magazine Translady Fanzine which I am a huge fan of!

I am excited to say that Hot Trans Guys had one of its biggest days on March 1st with over 1,000 hits!  We have 8 new Hot Trans Guys coming up in the next few weeks including fathers, furparents, genderqueer guys, pre and post op guys, a guy living with PHACES Syndrome, artists and more!

Lastly, wanted to share some of my new articles on Huff Po.  One is about LGBT teen suicide (tying into the last episode of Glee) and the other is about my handlebar moustache, two issues I am very concerned about personally.  Suicide is a big issue for our community.  There is help available!

I have struggled with my self-esteem and awhile back, pre-medical transition,  one of my friends encouraged me to put a note on my bathroom mirror that said, “I am a beautiful princess”  Of course the choice of words was a bit off, however the essence was spot on.  The note I put on my mirror helped me in so many ways!!

You are handsome!

Creating Change and Huff Po!

I just returned from a great time at the Creating Change Conference in Baltimore hosted by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force!  There was tons of buzz about Hot Trans Guys at Creating Change.  Not only had people heard about the site before I arrived but, I also spread fliers about the site throughout the conference and the word spread like wild fire.

The other exciting news this week here at Hot Trans Guys is that my article on Huffington Post went live.  This was the launch of my blogging career at Huff Po and I am excited about articles to come.

Please continue to support Hot Trans Guys by spreading the word to your friends.  I hope this site will represent a variety of ages, races, ethnicities, abilities, etc.

Word about the design of the site: The general consensus is that the gilt frames were a bit much.  I got rid of them and Im working on a simpler frame for the photos.

Last thing: You can get email updates of the site by clicking follow at the bottom of this post.  I am also tweeting a bit more these days, including tweets everytime a post goes live.  I tweet @glaze0101
